Works of art

  1. Quality and originality

    In our shop we offer you exclusively originals. You will not receive reproductions or replicas. All works of art offered by us are checked and art-historically processed by us to the best of our knowledge and belief. Our decades of experience have made us experts in the field from which we offer you in our shop works of art. All artist attributions are based on well-founded art historical research. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
  2. Presentation

    All works of art are provided with a special folding passe-partout. This passepartout consists of a back panel and a cover with a cut-out specially adapted to each work of art. The material used for the passepartout is a special museum-quality cardboard to protect your work of art optimally and to keep it safe even during long storage periods.
  3. Framing

    All offered works of art are unframed. However, you are welcome to contact us if you wish to have your work of art framed. We will gladly give you recommendations.
  4. Status

    All offered works of art are originals from the indicated time, mostly between 150 and 200 years old. Signs of age such as small stains or small tears in the edges are normal here. The condition of all offered works of art is listed in the object description. All preservation defects are noted here. Some of the offered works have been treated by specialized restorers who also work for museums and archives. Here, however, special emphasis is always placed on careful treatment. The basic rule is: as little intervention as possible to preserve the work of art. Should you have any questions or wish to have a work of art restored, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help.

    You are very welcome to view the original artwork you are interested in in our gallery. After making an appointment, we are at your disposal.

Order process

  1. Is it necessary to create a customer account for the purchase?

    No, you do not need a customer account to shop in our online shop. You can choose not to create an account during the checkout process. However, a customer account offers you many advantages: You can access your orders at any time (incl. tracking), change your email and password, change your billing and shipping address and choose your preferred payment method or save your notepad for a later visit.
  2. How can I track the status of my order

    Simply click on the top right-hand side on "My account" and there on "My orders". Here you will find all details including a tracking and tracing of your package.
  3. Can I cancel my order?

    If you want to cancel your order after the successful order process and it has not been shipped by us yet, please contact us by email and we will of course cancel your order immediately. If your order has already been shipped, you have a right of return of 1 month. We will organize the return free of charge for you.
  4. How will my customer data be used?

    The protection of your personal data has the highest priority for us and is guaranteed by up-to-date security mechanisms. Which data we collect and how they are used, you can check our Privacy policy from the container.

Payment

  1. Payment options

    We currently offer the following payment options:
    • PayPal
    • Direct debit, credit card or purchase on account via PayPal for customers in Germany (can also be used without a PayPal account)
    • Payment through your Amazon account (via Amazon Payments)
    • Bank transfer
    • Cash on delivery (for purchases from 500 € to 1.000 € per shopping cart)
    • Purchase on account (possible after your second successful purchase)
  2. Funding

    If you would like to purchase one or more works of art, but cannot make the payment at once, please contact us. Together with you, we can agree on payment modalities such as payment by instalments or payment terms.
  3. Costs

    There are no hidden costs. Neither do we charge fees for payment processing nor any shipping costs (for shipping within Germany). The price indicated in the shop is the price you actually pay for the artwork.

Shipping

  1. Shipping costs

    Order without minimum order value and within Germany all articles without shipping costs.

    All Works of art become worldwide free of charge sent to you. For deliveries within Germany, we also offer you the option of cash on delivery for purchases from 500 € to 1,000 €. No further costs arise for this.

    All Books become free of charge within Germany sent to you. Here, too, you can use the option of cash on delivery for purchases from 500 € to 1,000 €. No further costs arise for you here.
    When sending books within the EU & Switzerland we charge flat-rate shipping costs in the amount of 13,00 € per purchaseno matter how many books you have in your basket. When sending books outside the EU we charge flat-rate shipping costs of 34.00 € per purchase. 

    We attach the highest importance to secure packaging so that your purchase arrives safely and undamaged.

  2. International shipping

    All purchases in our shop are shipped worldwide. For possible costs, please compare the table above. *Please note that for shipping to Switzerland and non-EU countries, customs fees may apply, which are not included in the invoice amount. Any additional customs fees will be charged to you directly by customs.
  3. Dispatch route

    All your purchases are sent by DHL business customer mail. If a parcel requires a different transport service due to unusual size, we will coordinate this with you beforehand.
  4. Shipping processing and duration

    Once we receive your payment, we will process and ship your purchase within one business day. Delivery then usually takes another 1 to 3 working days within Germany. For deliveries within the EU please calculate 5 to 8 working days. Delivery outside the EU can take 10 to 20 working days.

  5. Transport safety

    All your purchases are packed with the utmost care to avoid any damage during transport.
  6. Right of return

    You can return your purchased items within 1 month without giving reasons. Please note our Return policy and that Return form. The shipping costs for the return within Germany are of course paid by us. For returns from abroad please contact us in advance.

    If you want to part with works of art from your collection, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to work out a concept with you for the sale of individual pieces or entire collections. From our core area we also buy pieces for our trade directly at any time.
